The Bar Ilan Responsa Project is an easy to use and easy to learn program that has its own built-in database of Torah literature.

The latest release comes with a long list of newly entered Torah literature and software enhancements. A complete list of all literature include in the database can be found here. The software has a full English interface and has a very responsive technical support team. Personal instruction on how to use the software is available upon request.

The latest software includes the following features:

• The ability to copy and save all texts in the database for possible use in a word processor

• The ability to print all texts in the database

• Fast text retrieval

• The availability of sophisticated search techniques

• Fast texts display with easy browsing capabilities

• Sophisticated linguistic tools on the Hebrew language making text retrieval more efficient

• Saving text or search results to a file and/or printing them in a variety of formats

• Hyperlinks between databases

• Topics index of selected responsa

• Index of all major Torah journals published in the past 30 years

• The ability to add personal notes (annotations) and links to the text

• Built-in tooltip dictionaries (Abbreviations, Hebrew/Aramaic)

• Built-in encyclopedic references – (Talmudic concepts, Biographies of Amoraim and Tannaim, Holiday Customs)

• A biographic reference in Enlglish of most of the authors of the texts included in the Bar Ilan Responsa Project

• A tool that calculates the gematria (numerical value) of any word or phrase of your choice and finds all biblical words, phrases or verses that have the same gematria.

• Perform vocalized text (Nikud) searches in Tanach

• Display texts by entering their references

• A software interface that can switch between English, Hebrew and French

System Requirements:
The following hardware and software are necessary to run the Global Jewish Database:
